Catherine Bradley is an up-and-coming artist from the West Midlands. Her work deals with issues of family, childhood, media influence, consumerism, sexuality, desire and disgust. After starting her career as a painter and sculptor, her work has evolved mainly into installation, but has also worked in photography and video. Her works are undoubably fun and have a childlike charm which is contrasted with an adult content. Sex and violence are treated as more a part of life, than spectacle, and her works often use a domestic setting as a container. Her work is inviting and playful, energised by unsettling yet mundane imagery.
Catherine has just graduated from the University of Central England in Birmingham. |
