. 09 . 2002 "After meeting and interviewing Spark for my MA report he offered us a support slot alongside him at Prosession. We kick off with a few teething problems with the scan converter / laptop comunication - all my fault I'm afraid - with Spark to the rescue. Things start rolling and the bass is shaking the windows out. Spark plays throughout the first two rounds alongside the residents with a flickering digital set of jerking graphics and scrambled urban imagery - winding up into a stream of space shuttles, stars, satellites and future/retro, slick, space chaos. Randall eventaully turns up and I start to mix in clips of firebomb attacks and zombie flesh eaters. This is the first test run of Phlumx to a live audience since it's 6th rebuild and new graphic user interface. I try to avoid using image manipulation and stick with scratching clips of pink dancers, zombies and air fresheners snapping open and closed(!). Things are going well until the software decides it dosn't like channel 2 any more and it simply vanishes... luckily Spark has layered some Prosession graphics over the clips so we keep the prosession style intact. Phlumx still needs a little work and a lot more play testing, but the latest version is quite easily the best it's ever been. Anestis
