events: 26.10.2002 "The Electric Cinema is an interesting venue with Manequins protruding from it's exterior and a gaudy prawn-pink interior. They serve cake and coffee and is, as Lee Seafood observed, 'like something from a David Lynch film'. The doors open and the place is sold out in minutes. Unfortunately the all-new video scratch features of PHLUMX and several new banks of video clips dont agree with the laptop which I've brought, causing all kinds of chaos only a computer could invent... I switch to plan B - Windows Media player [!!] - and praise the lord my clips are good enough to hold their own unmixed! The audience are now seriously getting through their 'bring your own beer' and DepArtMent rock the house..! The
evening is a major success, a complete sellout, and there's a distinctly
cosy atmosphere about the place... I appolgise a lot, but everyone's
happy... and so finish off my beer and head home with a copy of 'exploringthemalevagina'
and a fishy smelling 'Electric Seafood' CD." :
